Columbia, SC – Parker Poe Consulting LLC is pleased to announce Clay Killian has joined the firm and will provide management consulting services to municipalities and county governments. Clay brings four decades of expertise in local government, including most recently as Aiken County administrator.
During his time in Aiken, Clay led efforts to complete a new direct supervision detention facility, conducted a $46 million upgrade of the county's regional wastewater treatment plant, opened a new 134,000-square-foot Government Center to consolidate eight different locations of county offices, and successfully implemented four Capital Projects Sales Tax (commonly called penny tax) initiatives. He has also been involved with successful economic development recruitment efforts.
Clay has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the United Way of Aiken County, the Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce, and the South Carolina Association of Counties. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association, the National Association of County Administrators, and the South Carolina City and County Management Association.
